# Steel Drawing Register

Track steel drawing numbers, revisions, issue dates, and review status. Import drawing lists from CSV and keep superseded sheets visible in a local project record.

Saved only in this browser. Use a complete project package to back up the project and its attached tool records. No files or private project fields are uploaded.

Import CSV

Printing includes the visible filtered revisions. Up to 1,000 revisions. Import adds rows; duplicate drawing/revision pairs are rejected before any changes are saved. “Current reference” is your register designation, not approval to fabricate.

## Record which drawing issue you are referring to

A register makes drawing numbers, revisions, dates, and review states visible in one place. Create or choose a project first, then select the register you intend to update. The record describes the issues you enter; it does not discover revisions inside PDF files.

### Add revisions without losing earlier references

- Enter the drawing number and title, followed by the revision and issue date from the controlled source.

- Use In review while checking an issue. Use Current reference when you want that issue designated as the current reference in this register.

- When appropriate, select the option to supersede the other recorded revisions of the same drawing number. Earlier rows remain visible with their changed status.

### Example: a replacement framing sheet

Record S101, “Framing plan,” revision A with its issue date. When revision B arrives, add a second S101 row. If you mark B current and select the supersede option, the existing A row becomes superseded. Keeping both rows helps explain a takeoff or RFI that still refers to A. Check which rows should remain current before using that option.

### Bring in a spreadsheet safely

Download the CSV template and keep its six headers exactly as provided: number, title, revision, issuedAt,status, notes. Use dates in YYYY-MM-DD form and the status values review, current, or superseded. The visible labels in the interface are not the CSV status values.

Import adds rows rather than replacing the register. A duplicate drawing-number and revision pair, including a case-only difference, is rejected before the import saves anything. Correct the spreadsheet or edit the existing row instead of importing the same issue twice.

Filters help inspect current or superseded issues. Printing includes the visible filtered rows; CSV exports the complete register. Clear filters before printing a full list. Use the [PDF search tool](https://www.quantumsteeldesign.com/drawing-search/) to locate references and the [RFI log](https://www.quantumsteeldesign.com/rfi-log/) to record questions about conflicting issues. Export a complete project package to preserve the register with its associated records.
