Offline workbench

Download selected steel tools and reference data for use without an internet connection. Choose your pack, check its release, and remove it whenever you want.

Choose what to keep on this device

Downloads start only when you choose a pack below. They contain public website files and reference data. Your drawings, project notes, and other private inputs are never added to the offline download.

Working offline

Check the offline setup before you need it

An offline download keeps a selected release of public tool files on this device. It is useful when you want to reopen a workbench without a reliable connection, but it is separate from the backups that protect your project inputs.

Choose a pack for the actual task

  1. While connected, choose core tools for material lists, calculations, local project records, and steel reference data.
  2. Choose core plus PDF tools if you also need drawing comparison or drawing-set text search. This includes the local PDF rendering resources as well as the core pack.
  3. Wait for the ready message and check the downloaded release. Use the page's included-tool links as the list of routes available offline.

Example: prepare for a connection-free review

Download the PDF pack, export a complete project backup, and keep the required source PDFs accessible on the device. Temporarily disconnect, reopen this bookmarked offline page in the same browser, and follow its drawing-tool link. Select the local source PDFs and confirm that you can view them. Reconnect afterward and check for an updated release before the next review.

This trial checks your actual browser and storage state. A connection indicator alone does not prove that a download succeeded, and a saved project does not prove that the tools needed to open it are cached.

Understand the boundaries of the download

The interactive steel reference uses the included shape data. Individual shape-detail URLs, learning articles, and videos are not included merely because they are linked from a downloaded tool. Likewise, the learning library can retain bookmarks without downloading their destinations. Use only the listed pack routes when checking offline availability.

Private PDFs are reselected locally and are never part of the public pack. Removing the offline download preserves separately saved tool data; clearing all website data can remove both. Export inventory, learning, or tool-specific backups separately when they are not part of your complete project package.

Use Check status and updates while connected, then download again to replace an older pack. A failed update keeps the earlier complete download. If storage is unavailable or reclaimed, reconnect and download again rather than relying on a partially available tool. See the project dashboard for the separate project-backup workflow.

A few practical answers

Frequently asked questions

Is the offline pack installed automatically?

No. Installation starts only when you request it. The page lists the supported tools and pack status so you can verify readiness before disconnecting.

Can I watch YouTube or send a contact form offline?

No. External video, live news, form delivery, and other network services need a connection. The pack is intended for the listed local tools and their assets.

Does removing the pack delete my projects?

Removing the offline pack removes its cached site files and service worker. It preserves saved project records; clearing all browser site data is a different action and may remove those records.
