Drawing Package Checker

Check a selected local PDF package against a drawing register, flag missing filenames and repeated bytes, and export a review report without uploading files.

Prepare a CSV export from the Drawing Register. This check uses a declared filename convention; it cannot confirm the revision printed inside a drawing.

Select a register and PDF package

Name files DRAWING__rev-REVISION.pdf, for example S101__rev-B.pdf. For a blank revision use S101.pdf. Matching ignores case and surrounding spaces, but preserves punctuation. One file should represent one register drawing.

What the report establishes

A matching filename establishes only that a selected file has the expected label. Open that file and compare its title block, issue date, revision notes, sheet count, and approval status with the register. Renaming an old file to a new revision is not detected by a filename match.

The checker calculates a SHA-256 fingerprint of every selected file. Equal fingerprints flag identical file bytes even when the filenames differ. Different fingerprints do not necessarily mean different drawing geometry: a PDF metadata update can change the fingerprint. No fingerprint or file is uploaded.

Missing entries are limited to the register scope you select. Superseded files are identified when their filenames match a superseded register entry. Unknown naming conventions are reported for manual review, rather than silently assigned to a similar-looking sheet. Combined multi-sheet PDFs cannot establish completeness against a one-file-per-drawing register.

Does a PDF header prove that the file is usable?

No. The header check catches obvious non-PDF selections; it does not validate every object or page. Open the package in a PDF reader or the Drawing Set Search tool to inspect the selected pages.

What happens to the register and drawings?

They are read locally for this run, and the register is never changed. Clear the selection or close this page to release the local references. The CSV and JSON exports contain filenames and fingerprints, so handle those reports as project information.
